Kingswood Primary School Parent Association
The Parent Association at Kingswood Primary School warmly invites parents to join their community, dedicated to organizing social events like Movie Nights and Trivia Nights open to all. We also coordinate special activities like Mother’s Day/Father’s Day/Special Person’s stalls and breakfasts, fostering family engagement. Through Compass, the Facebook Parent Association and year-level groups, we communicate upcoming events, seek volunteers, and facilitate parent interaction.
Parents are encouraged to participate at any level, from assisting with events to actively contributing ideas, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all families.
What do you do at the Parent Association Meetings?
At meetings, we discuss and plan service and social events. We are presented with a report from our school council representative and also a report from our principal. We are kept informed about many things that are happening around the school. Parent Association members respect the opinion of others and we invite you to join us and help make our events be the best they can. Our meetings usually run for 60 minutes.
What else does the Parent Association do?
The Parent Association organises several events through the year: Tea and Tissues for our new Prep families, Ice-cream days, Donut days, just to name a few. We also organise the Prep/Buddy BBQ, to celebrate our Preps first full week of school, Mother’s/Father’s/Special Person’s Day stalls and breakfasts. We also manage the second hand uniform online store through QuickCliq, second hand uniform donations to the school and lost property.
What would I have to do if I joined?
You can choose how much you help; you can help at 1 event or help at all the events. Helping with an event can range from organising, setting up, packing up and helping on the day.
I have small children, will it be a problem?
No, we often have young children around during our events, and we welcome everyone to help at our social and service events.
When do you meet?
We meet monthly on a Thursday at 2.30-3.20pm in the staff room. The date of the next meeting is always included in the school newsletter.
