Over recent years Kingswood Primary School has continued to develop and improve the outcomes for children. Through the hard work of our talented and dedicated staff and with the support of a strong leadership team and School Council, we have created a challenging and supportive learning environment for the children.
The majority of Kingswood students live in the Dingley Village community, however, the percentage of students coming from outside the immediate area is growing. Presently, 43% of students live out of area, this is due to the excellent reputation of the school.
Kingswood has eight permanent classrooms, open planned style, an Arts facility providing learning and teaching spaces for Visual and Performing Arts, Administration and Library area. The other eleven classes are in relocatable structures. A strong feature of the school is its outdoor environment and beautiful gardens.
The organisation of the school effectively utilises the facilities to enhance educational practice. We structure our curriculum to ensure that each child has access to quality Literacy, Numeracy and ICT programs. The school has a strong focus on academic achievement, student engagement and catering for the ‘whole’ child.
A wide range of curriculum opportunity provides thoughtful enrichment of the learning of every student and early access to specialisation. Specialist programs in Visual Arts, Physical Education, Performing Arts, Science and Languages (Japanese) provide students with outstanding opportunities to discover and develop their interests and skills. Every two years we take students to Japan.
Student achievement is monitored continually and parents are informed through parent teacher interviews, two written reports and a communication book. The parent/teacher forum is further enhanced through curriculum information nights and ‘You Tell Us’ evenings.
The school offers the latest in technology, a vibrant education with many interesting, challenging activities and a caring positive atmosphere and good relationships are enjoyed by staff, students and parents
